Welcome Message

First United Methodist Church of Bonham has been faithfully worshiping God and serving the community around us for over 170 years.  We have a long and rich history that we celebrate, and we are excited because we believe God is doing a new thing with our congregation as we move into another chapter of our ministry together.  We are committed to making our neighborhood a better place through service-minded discipleship, creative community partnerships, and living out a gospel that is inclusive, loving, and grace-filled.

We are a multi-generational church that finds God in a diversity of ways. We believe that following Jesus lends itself to both personal transformation and better communities. Whether you are someone who struggles with faith or a life-long Methodist, we want you to find a faith home that is committed to radical hospitality and providing a space to all who are in need of grace and love.

If you are an individual searching for a church home, we welcome you!  We look forward to worshiping with you on Sunday!

A Letter from the Pastor
Dear Church Family,

We will continue to follow the expectations of the president, the governor and the North Texas Conference Bishop, Mike McKee, and refrain from in person worship until they tell us it is safe to do so.   We still plan to keep worshipping together even as we are scattered through Facebook Live, the Radio, or our website.  Here is the information you need to participate.

The Radio - You can listen to a recording of our worship service every single Sunday at 1:30pm by

Facebook Live Streaming - For the first time ever, our service will be live streamed. You can participate by going to our church Facebook page. We will start streaming at 10:30am. Here is how you can find our Facebook page if you haven’t already started following it.

Giving – There are several ways you can continue giving your tithes, offerings, and gifts to the church.
  • You can mail a check to the church – 801 Star St., Bonham, TX 75418
  • You can give using this link through online giving at
  • You can go to our Church’s website, click on the “give” tab, and press the “online giving” button on that screen.
  • You can also contact the church if you want to set up automatic payments through your bank

Please don’t allow yourself or others to be isolated. Be intentional about reaching out to others in our church and community. Call, text, or Facetime a friend! Call or text me anytime, especially if you are needing some pastoral care.

The church office will be open off and on to keep things running and help people in emergency need, but we are hoping to limit the people in the building to those who are absolutely necessary.

Finally, The Fannin County Ministerial Alliance announces a Call to Prayer. In the midst of the fears and struggles caused by Covid-19, join us every day at 10:00am, as we pause wherever we are to pray.

Philippians 4:6-7 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

In Christ-
Pastor Dana
